Canadian Book on Lead by Anne Roberts "The Citizen's Guide to Lead - Uncovering a Hidden Health Hazard", by Barbara Wallace and Kathy Cooper, NC Press, Toronto, 1986 was kindly sent to Elizabeth O'Brien after her US trip by The Trail Blood Lead Community Task Force, Trail, British Columbia, Canada. (Trail is running the July 1995 Lead International Conference for workers in lead poisoning prevention programs.) The book is the only one Elizabeth has come across that has been written for lay people, not scientists. It covers all aspects of childhood lead poisoning, and has been very influential in raising awareness in North America. Unfortunately it is out of print, but can be read in the CLIC Library.§ |
