QUESTION: Who could safely treat a 100 year old wall with peeling paint? 10/08/12 New South Wales, Australia Please advise who could safely treat a 100 year old wall with peeling paint and damaged plaster ( resulting from water damage). I have been advised to jackhammer off the old plaster and concrete skirting board and then apply Westox but I am concerned that lead will be in the paint and the plaster beneath, so that jack hammering will create a hazard. The wall is interior, in a room used by a young woman.. |

ANSWER: Aug 10 2012 Dear Margaret, I would recommend that you contact Lets Clean (at Artarmon), as they are the only company in Australia which specialises in lead-safe lead paint removal. Then it would be safe for anyone to manage the plaster. All the best with the work Yours Sincerely Elizabeth O'Brien |
