QUESTION: I am looking for my school friend Jacob Yerushalmi, 09 Oct 2006, Isfahan Iran

I am looking my friend with name Jacob Yerushalmi
He studied in high school in Iran/Isfahan Adab high school in the 1974-1978 can you help me to find the his Email. My address Email is vahidnooshmehr[at]yahoo.com
thanks
ANSWER: 10 Oct 2006

Dear Dr Noushmehr,
You may have come to our website because of some research into foetal environmental exposures linked with schizophrenia later in life (and lead was later found to be linked). The research was begun by a man called Jacob Yerushalmi but according to my Google search:
The Health Report: 8 March 2004 - Schizophrenia Risks The person that began this study was a man called Jacob Yerushalmi, and he died in 1973. He identified the mothers at their first pre-natal visit, ... http://www.abc.net.au/radionational/programs/healthreport/schizophrenia-risks/3376500
So I conclude that he could not have been the same Jacob Yerushalmi that you went to school with from 1974-8. Perhaps they were related, so you may want to contact the other researchers who wrote "Prenatal Lead Exposure, delta-Aminolevulinic Acid, and Schizophrenia" which was published in Environmental Health Perspectives, Vol 112 No 5 April 2004. According to the ABC website (see link above):
"Researchers involved were Dr Mark Opler, who's at the Department of Psychiatry at the University of Columbia in New York, and Dr Ezra Susser, who's Professor of Epidemiology and Psychiatry, also at Columbia." You could try emailing Professor Opler at mgo4@columbia.edu to ask if he knows the man you went to school with. That's my best suggestion. Good luck!
Yours Sincerely
Elizabeth O'Brien
