ANSWER: 10 Apr 2006
Dear Carol, Sorry for the delay in responding but your email was so short on detail I actually thought it was a joke. Just in case it isn't a joke, (because depending on your family's circumstances (eg age of children if any, age of house, age of adults you're concerned about, whether you're planning to renovate, whether you're involved in work or hobbies that expose you to lead, whether you are more concerned about lead exposure or possible lead exposure that occurred many years ago rather than current actual or potential lead exposure, whether you have pets you're concerned about, etc) and you are concerned about the most common lead concerns ie children or renovation, please refer to the "7 point plan for the MANAGEMENT OF LEAD by Australian parents and carers" and "The Six Step Guide To Painting Your Home" As to which surrounding suburbs are affected, there are so many sources of lead in Australia (see Sources of lead), that I can't think why any suburb would not be affected. If you like, please let me know your actual concerns so that I may answer them. I'll have a much more specific answer for you if you provide blood lead levels - obtainable from your doctor.
Yours Sincerely PS you didn't send in your email address so, after spending time writing you the above answer I now have to ask another volunteer to put together items to post to you. |
