QUESTION: Why is the Boolaroo lead program being integrated into the local health clinics? 15 Aug 2005, New South Wales Australia
I just viewed your Power Point presentation for the first time and was very impressed. I have heard that a program in Boolaroo is beginning to shut down and be incorporated into the local health clinics. Why is the program being integrated into the local health clinics? We haven't had an elevated blood lead level in over 5 years and we still feel that we need to be diligent in education. Is there not a risk of elevated blood lead levels in that area any more? |

ANSWER: 09 Aug 2005
To Lucy Bates, Project Manager, North Lake Macquarie Environmental Health Centre (NLMEHC) Dear Lucy, I kidded myself for the last three weeks that I would find time to investigate the issues raised in this email (above) but now I realize it will be much better to simply put the questions to you for answering. That way I can return to the humungous task of finding sponsorship or funding for our information service now that our New South Wales and South Australian government funding has ended. I would be very grateful if you could send me a copy when you respond to Jan Williams at Jwilliam@co.lewis-clark.mt.us because I am interested in the response and also so that I know Jan's email has been answered. The Power Point presentation Jan referred to is presumably our newest one at www.lead.org.au/bblp/Ceiling-Dust/index.htm
Thanking you |
