QUESTION: Consolidated Alloys does sell Bismuth, 23 Feb 2004, Victoria Australia

Where would you buy Bismuth
Regards

ANSWER: 23 Feb 2004

Dear Sir,

I just checked our phone records (after wrongly assuming we'd only have email records on this issue) and have found that Consolidated Alloys in Melbourne at 32 Industrial Ave Thomastown VIC 3074 does sell Bismuth at $50/kg - phone 93595811 or 93594076.

Cheers
Yours Sincerely
Elizabeth O'Brien

Dear Craig,

I had a similar inquiry to yours in 2002 - please find below the response and I'm sorry it's not more helpful. The name of Pasminco has since changed to Zinifex but I believe everything else is much the same.

Yours sincerely
Elizabeth O'Brien

Email 2

Dear Sir,

I did not know of any bismuth suppliers in Australia (at any price) so I did a web search and only found American, Chinese and Indian suppliers so I asked the Sales people at the largest lead company in Australia (Pasminco) whether they could supply an anonymous enquirer of ours with bismuth, and Wendy Waddell at Pasminco said she would find out for me. She has just responded with the following information. Sorry it's not what you wanted to hear.

Yours sincerely
Elizabeth O'Brien

Dear Elizabeth

As discussed on the phone - Pasminco uses bismuth within its products but does not have the opportunity to supply bismuth direct to Queensland University.

Unfortunately on requesting information on a producer of bismuth in Australia, no one does anymore and so are not able to assist you.

I can suggest that they try www.reade.com/Products/Elements/bismuth.html which is a company in the US which may be able to help them, but may not be able to supply in small quantities.

I thank you for directing the inquiry to us and should you have any other inquiries in respect to lead, please do not hesitate to contact me direct.

Sorry I was unable to assist more in this inquiry.
Kind Regards
Ms Wendy Waddell
