QUESTION: Please send a case study of how you've converted lead waste into gold. 14 Dec 2003, India

Dear sirs,

  1. maximum yield from ore and dross.
  2. converting your waste slag into gold money.
  3. fabricating anti-pollution equipments.

We would like to introduce ourselves as the consultants for all non-ferrous metals in india.
We have 15 years experience in this field. We can practically and economically work towards and get maximum yield from ore /dross etc., from any of the non-ferrous metals such lead, aluminium, copper, zinc, etc.

We can also sell your waste scrap generated from your industries for a very good price converting your waste into gold money.

Apart from these things we also can fabricate the anti-pollution equipments for your industries.
If you are interested we would like to come to your country on contract basis for mutual benefits.

Please e-mail to us your opinion for the same.
With kind regards.
Yours faithfully,
R.S.Sridhar & Girish Gupta.

ANSWER: 15 Dec 2003

Dear Sridhar,

Thank you for the information you have provided so far. The LEAD Group does not have any ore dross or waste because we do not mine or smelt metal - we run the Global Lead Advice and Support Service (GLASS) - an information service on how to prevent lead poisoning and lead contamination. Please submit a case study including location and statistical and financial data on your operations including the blood lead levels of your staff. Our organisation could then web-publish your case study (practical example of your work) for others to find on the internet. This service is run entirely by volunteers.

You may also be interested in contacting The National Referral Centre for Lead Poisoning in India (NRCLPI) (Email: which is a non-profit joint undertaking of St. John's National Academy of Health Sciences, and The George Foundation (visit, both of Bangalore. NRCLPI carries out the following activities:

  1. Provide updated information on all aspects of lead poisoning through its website: You can become a member and login to make your input.
  2. Offer a referral and confirmatory lead testing service for blood samples received at the Centre from anywhere in India.
  3. Disseminate relevant information on lead poisoning to government authorities, NGOs, clinicians treating lead poisoned cases and other institutions concerned, and create awareness among the general public through education, documentation and media communication.

You might want to specifically contact Dr Thuppil Venkatesh (Email: who began in mid-2002 to establish the National Museum of Lead based materials used by man all over the world as an educational activity at the National Referral Center for Lead Poisoning in India (NRCLPI).

Good luck with your work and I hope to hear from you soon.
Yours Sincerely
Elizabeth O'Brien
