Victory! The second largest paint company in the
world will stop making lead paint by 2020

On April 21, 2016, PPG, the second largest paint company in the
world, announced that they were going to stop making lead paint by 2020. The announcement
was made in response to a question from Perry Gottesfeld,
Executive Director of Occupational Knowledge International (www.okInternational.org), who attended the PPG annual shareholder meeting
to present a petition signed by over 5,700 people asking them to stop making
lead paint. OK International had been repeatedly asked the company to
remove lead additives from its products over the last four years.
“This was a big win to protect public
health around the world and now we hope that other U.S. paint companies will
follow PPG’s leadership.” Gottesfeld said. Sherwin
Williams and Valspar have refused to stop making lead paint and so we are
