GreenPainters is the national sustainability Initiative for the painting industry. GreenPainters maintain a data-base of painting contractors who are qualified in environmental management. Many of these painters have undergone training in lead management as part of their Certificate III Painting and Decorating qualifications. This training is the same competency as the Lead Management courses run by some RTOs. The GreenPainters web-site therefore, has a database of painters who completed this training, and list “Lead paint management” among the services they offer.

Simon completed the course Lead Paint Hazard Reduction for Contractors at the Canberra Institute of Technology (CIT) July 1997 and the Master Painters Lead-Safe Contractor Registration course in December 1997, also a course in Domestic Lead Paint Hazard Reduction and Management conducted by South Western Sydney Institute of Technical and Further Education (TAFE) in December 1997 and is on the Master Painters Australia Federal Register of Lead-Safe Painting Contractors.
